Summer Events
Whatever your interests are, you will find something you love!
Celebrate Independence Day in the high country! Breckenridge offers near-perfect summer weather with a full line-up of entertainment, activities and fun. Our high-energy Fourth of July Celebration kicks off with a 10k trail run, followed by the Firecracker 50 mountain bike race, the Main Street Parade and the Street Arts Festival. The family activities, live music and performance by the National Repertory Orchestra are not to be missed!
The Breckenridge Food & Wine Festival brings you a unique wine tasting experience. Main Street Station Plaza and The Village at Breckenridge (at the base of Peak 9) transform into a beautiful, mountain-side vineyard starring an array of varietals created by top wineries. From the soft and smooth to the unabashedly bold, guests will get more than their fair share of delicious sips. There will be nearly 300 wines to select from!
Enjoy mild temperatures and exciting events like the Summit Foundation’s Great Rubber Duck Race, the annual Sidewalk Sale, featuring over 74 shops around Breckenridge, and the Great Divide Arts Festival, featuring over 100 artists with a wide range of media including photography, wood, glass, jewelry and pottery. Bring the whole family this Labor Day and watch as thousands of ducks race down the Blue River at the Riverwalk Center, participate in free activities, stroll and shop along Main Street and the Art Festival, and snack on yummy food throughout town.
Each year, Breckenridge shuts down Main Street for three days and transforms into a Bavarian-style street party. Complete with German food, collectible steins of Paulaner bier, live oompah bands, traditional costumes and special accommodations packages, don’t miss the largest Oktoberfest in the Rockies!
Celebrate the art of filmmaking with a diverse selection of filmmakers from around the globe who engage and inspire with their unique storytelling. Attendees can enjoy 90+ independent films and premieres, plus forums and parties amidst the fall colors in the Colorado Rockies.
Raise your glasses and join us as we uncork the can’t-miss wine festival of the season! Breckenridge Wine Classic is your chance to grow your knowledge and enjoy top-quality food and wines from vineyards around the world. Master sommeliers, chefs and winemakers invite the public to play, wine and dine during the height of Breckenridge’s fall colors. The event combines a Grand Tasting at the Riverwalk Center, a Main Street stroll and seminars with food, wine and outdoor adventures to create a weekend of fine wine, food and foliage.
Join us for the annual Breckenridge Craft Spirits Festival! Traditionally on the third weekend of October, the Still on the Hill Grand Tasting offers tastings from over 40 distilleries, live music, tours and more! Come try a unique new spirit, taste some of your favorites, or just have a drink and a good time!
The Gold Prospectors of Colorado come to Breckenridge to take over the Blue River Plaza each June for three days of historical fun. Watch and learn from some of the world’s premier panners going for the gold!
Each summer, the National Repertory Orchestra (NRO) comes to Breckenridge to present some of the best young musicians from around the country. Visit Breckenridge to hear the result of all the hard work and determination that prepare the young musicians for their orchestral music careers.
The NRO performs two full orchestra concerts each week at Breckenridge’s Riverwalk Center between late June and mid-August.
In addition, musicians perform in smaller chamber concerts, and the full orchestra plays at several other locations in the state.
Bacon is the most-loved food in the universe and the route to all things swine and divine. Add in the quintessential American liquor, bourbon; mind blown. These indulgences come together for Breckenridge Hogfest: Bacon & Bourbon.
Meat connoisseurs will be able to taste their way through a spectrum of pork samples, premium whiskeys, single malt scotches, and barrel-aged spirits while enjoying live music and mixology below Breckenridge’s Peak 9. We want to speak to palates of all distinctions and our golden rule will be to feature the best of the best to the brownest of the brown.
